PRODUCER | ENGINEER | MIXER
Jim Stewart, a Cleveland based Engineer, Producer, and Mixer has over a decade of experience working with a wide variety of local, regional, and national artists. In the last 13 years, Jim has amassed credits on a multitude of projects from renowned musicians including Welshly Arms, The Lighthouse & the Whaler, and Ray Flanagan and The Authorities.
Jim began his career in 2005, while studying at the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio. Shortly after graduating he started at Metrosync studios, where he quickly went from intern to staff engineer, working there until the studio closed in 2009. Moving on, Jim then worked at Ante Up Audio until its closing in 2011. For the next few years, Jim decided to branch out as a freelance engineer working out of many major studios in Northeast Ohio. He thrived during this time, becoming a household name in Cleveland’s music industry. He was, and continues to be, graciously featured in numerous articles published by Scene Magazine, The Plain Dealer, and Pressure Life Magazine. He is said to be a “local hero” with the “Midas touch sonically.” The demand that Jim’s reputation created during his freelance years required a dedicated studio available at his disposal. Jim now works out of a purpose-built space in the heart of downtown Cleveland.
Jim Stewart has made a name for himself as one of the most talented engineers in Cleveland. Talk to the artists he’s worked with and they’ll speak to his ability, professionalism and creativity. First, though, they’ll talk about his enthusiastic, unassuming personality, which they'll cite as a key component to a collaborative working atmosphere. Listen to an album Jim has engineered, and the quality of his work speaks for itself.
